Kadena De Mono translates to “Chain of Hand” and is one of the 3 core styles within the complete Inayan System of Eskrima as taught by GM Michael G. Inay.

Inayan Kadena De Mono has its root within the family style of GM Max Sarmiento and his ancestry in the Northern Philippines. With a combination of empty-hand and knife/dagger techniques, KDM is well known for its effective weapon defense and manipulation style.
The KDM practitioner is trained using three (3) methods of development; Drilling (static & dynamic chains of techniques), Lock Flow (joint & balance manipulation) and Application exercises.
Once the practitioner develops a basic skill set within the style, they are taught through different group and individual exercises how to adapt to the environment, the opponent, and the weaponry involved in the encounter.
Through this process the practitioner develops physical abilities giving them options to fit their current needs while developing their understanding of a systematical approach to Self-Defense and aggression.
Being a principal based system, it is easy to translate the techniques to fit everyday objects one uses throughout their lives, all the while training a very effective and efficient combative martial art.
